Arttists' Co-op of Mendocino July Featured Artist Shanti Balsé Mendo Summer Magic

Local photographer Shanti Balsé is the Featured Artist at the Artists’ Co-op of Mendocino for July.

When Shanti first arrived on the North Coast at the age of 12, she knew at once this was home, and it has been her base ever since, though she is also known for images taken in her many travels.  The magic of Mendocino captivates visitors and locals alike.  Here the vast Pacific meets the Redwoods. The ocean presence is not just found in the waves that wash the rocky shore, but it brings the gift of moisture that sustains the redwoods and every garden and wildflower.  “Right here, Mendocino is eternally beautiful; she is an easy subject, full of delights.  When I discovered photography, I just started seeing the images almost framed…I really love taking pictures…and I love honoring the beauty of the world around us.”

This special collection will be at the Co-op fro July 8th through August 3rd. Second Saturday hosts a reception when you can meet the artist on July 11 and hear her speak about her work.
