Craig Hathaway and Anne Kessler

The Artists’ Collective In Elk Presents the wood working of Craig Hathaway and the paintings of Anne Kessler, for the month of October.

Come see Craig Hathaway’s latest works of Redwood Burl Furniture. Craig has been making very unique one-of-a-kind hand-crafted redwood burl and driftwood sculptured furniture since 1984. He uses the natural forms that Mother Nature made, put together to make one-of-a-kind works of wonder.

Anne calls this show Moments of Sunshine. In it she explores all the different ways to paint sunlight using color and tonal value. On display are small paintings from her summers here in Mendocino County and her winters in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.

The show will run from Oct. 1st through Oct. 31st, with an opening reception for the artists on 2nd Sat., Oct. 10th, from 1 to 3 pm. The gallery is located at 6031 S. Hwy 1, next to the Post Office. It is open 7 days a week, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Anne Kessler has spent her life studying the changing light and color of the Coast and expressing it in pastel. Her landscapes give it context whether it is shafts of light through redwood trees or light reflected off the moving ocean near sunset.

She loves displaying her work with Craig Hathaway’s magnificent burl tables that anchor and reflect her vision. Anne now winters in Zihuatanejo, Mexico like a migrating bird.

Craig Hathaway has been building redwood burl furniture since 1984. He’s been looking forward to having a show with Anne Kessler. Included in his show will be a desk, picnic table, end tables, coffee tables, benches, and mushroom sculptures. He uses the natural forms that Mother Nature made, put together to make one-of-a-kind works of wonder.
