"Harvest Moon" ACM September Featured Art

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, September’s full moon is called the Harvest Moon. Four artist friends from the Artists’ Co-op of Mendocino, Shanti Beniit, Sev Ickes, Debra Lennox and Lynne Zickerman, have joined together to present moon themed artworks this September appropriately titled “Harvest Moon”.

The Earth and Moon were created at the same time, eons ago. Their special relationship has been celebrated throughout time when ancient calendars were based on the cycles of the moon. Tides show us the daily rhythms of that gravitational pull, and unseen, the moon is liked to our climate and every living creature on the planet. The very shape of the moon creates forms that are fundamental in art today. We marvel at the beauty of its light. Who hasn’t  stopped to watch a particularly gorgeous full moonrise?

Expect a tour de force as these four women celebrate the Moon in September with their own unique interpretations that reflect a special relationship between Artist and Muse.
